Smart Cars Go All Electric https://earthpager.org/electric-vehicles/smart-cars-go-all-electric/ https://earthpager.org/electric-vehicles/smart-cars-go-all-electric/#respond Tue, 28 Feb 2017 21:24:59 +0000 http://earthpager.org/?p=282 So it appears that Daimler, owner of such brand names as Mercedes and Smart, decided to make all their US Smart Cars electric-only starting in 2018!

This is good news for business owners looking to have electric company cars! Here are some key points for getting these kinds of tiny cars for your business:

  • Smart is a reputable brand of car
  • An electric model of the full fledged car that can go for just only $12,490 with 76 miles of city range.
  • You’re likely eligible for some electric vehicle incentives like up to $7500 off your taxes (US Federal taxes) and additionally more from your state or city(For example, Colorado credits up to $6000 for any large electric vehicle like a car)
  • Electricity is generally many times cheaper than gasoline per mile. Currently, electric cars may be initially more expensive but after several years of ownership, you’ll see significant savings from not having to use gasoline.
  • You may use a car to help market your business as a more environmentally-conscious thinking business. Additionally, Smart cars can look somewhat unique, particularly in the US, so you’ll get people looking at your car- perfect for putting your advertising on it.
  • Why go to a fueling station? Generate your own “fuel” from your house or your business. This idea begins to get even more meaning if you generate your own electricity though more sustainable means like solar panels or wind turbines, etc.

Step 5 – Launch Your Website https://earthpager.org/guides/new-website/launch-your-website/ https://earthpager.org/guides/new-website/launch-your-website/#respond Fri, 24 Feb 2017 13:48:40 +0000 http://earthpager.org/?p=173 Now that your website is ready, launch your website!

Tell people about your website, starting with your family and friends. However, how your website does with strangers is a true gauge of how your website is doing overall.

Here are some ideas to promote your new website:

  • Setup, at a minimum, a FaceBook profile for your business and mention on your LinkedIn account your affiliation with your new website.
  • Announce to the world through your FaceBook, twitter, Google +, or any other social network of choice that your website is ready and to go to it!
    • Consider advertising on FaceBook. As of early 2017, advertising this way is the hotness!
  • Sign up to go to various networking groups
    • Consider being a presenter at a networking group
  • Sign up to your Chamber of commerce
    • Consider becoming a business consultant for entrepeneur classes (this is a great idea if your city offers this)
  • Join your local Rotary club, volunteer, network, and offer your services
  • Contact your business consultants and ask for advice and direction! That’s what business consultants do for a living!
  • Contact a marketing consultant to assist in marketing. Some consultants also do cold calling if you need it.
  • Have a stand-out or unique business card to give to people at any event
    • Always have business card on you when you’re out and about to give hand out. Always.
  • Consider an affiliate system to help other people sell your product for you in exchange for some the profit.
    • Lifetime affiliate commission for the life of a customer are very lucrative for potential affiliates, particuarly if it’s over %20 recurring commission.
    • A one time High affiliate commission is also very lucrative for potential affiliates
  • Create some ‘rack’ cards with tips on something your website is about. Then point out your website on the cards to get more information.

Good Luck!

Step 4.5 – Design Tips for Beaver Builder https://earthpager.org/guides/new-website/design-tips/ https://earthpager.org/guides/new-website/design-tips/#respond Thu, 23 Feb 2017 12:42:12 +0000 http://earthpager.org/?p=152 Before launch, we have some effective design tips that we’ve used across over the years.

We use a plugin called Beaver Builder to build nearly all of our websites.

It makes websites easier to design and faster to bring a website to fruition.  You can visit them here.

Here are some tips for Beaver Builder:

  • Keep plenty of spacing between your elements. It makes it easier to read and less cluttered. Check out the difference between these two images. Which one is easier to read?:
  • Make sure at the top of your page (above the fold), you state the main intention of your website in the least amount of words as possible while remaining descriptive. You may find yourself fine tuning this first message the visitor sees many times.
    • If you have a special guide or product, why not put a button or link to it right under the description of your website’s intention.
  • Use animations if possible of different page elements. They make your website ‘pop’ as you scroll down the page and adds that extra magic.
  • On a home page, divide amounts of text for any features of a product or service into their basic idea. Then make a collapsible section with these main ideas, like so:
  • Make text easier to read and get through. Don’t write chunks of paragraphs if you can avoid it. This also applies to email newsletters.
  • Put your least looked at pages (like your legal pages) links in the footer of every page. Your about, affiliate, or contact us pages are fine here too.
  • Pictures do wonders! Have some related pictures to break up text if possible. Particularly useful with blog posts.
  • If your website is solar powered, mention that it is! We tend to put mention it in the footer of our websites.
  • Neon colors. What? no.
